Maintenance or a complete reset?
Selection depends on floor condition, existing finish, use, access, downtime and maintenance goals. A sound finish may be suitable for a deep scrub and recoat. Heavy buildup or failing finish may require a full strip and new traditional commercial floor finish. RexPro V-Shield is a separate option only after substrate and finish compatibility review and preparation to current manufacturer requirements; it is not suitable for every VCT floor.
The considered approach
Three ways to care for commercial VCT.
Deep scrub and recoat
For a suitable existing finish, deep scrubbing removes soil and worn surface layers before compatible traditional commercial floor finish is reapplied. This maintenance option retains sound finish rather than stripping every layer.
Full strip and traditional floor finish
VCT wax removal and full stripping address built-up or failing finish. The floor is prepared before applying a suitable traditional commercial floor finish. Commercial floor maintenance remains part of the plan.
Full strip and RexPro V-Shield
This multi-component silicon-ceramic coating is a distinct option for compatible porous vinyl/VCT. Existing wax, sealers, coatings and residues must be fully removed, and the substrate must be clean and dry. Manufacturer requirements, environmental conditions and the selected system determine application and return-to-use guidance.

Can you maintain the existing finish?
Yes, where the existing finish is sound and compatible. A deep scrub and recoat may be appropriate; damaged or contaminated finish may require full stripping.
Do you apply traditional commercial floor finish?
Yes. Full strip and traditional floor finish is an available service. We also assess compatible existing finish for deep scrub and recoat.
Is RexPro V-Shield appropriate for every VCT floor?
No. We first review the substrate, previous finish, preparation requirements and manufacturer guidance. It is an alternative coating option, not a universal replacement for traditional finish.
How do you plan around an occupied property?
